We started our business more than 22 years ago. And since that time we have completed more than 862 dockets. Some of those dockets were for simply copy editing one book. And some of those dockets were for multi-grade multi-book series. It is safe to say that in the last 22 years we have been involved in the publication of well over 2000 books for well over 100 different “publishers”.
We typeset our first math book in 1992 and completed our first original series that same year. We did our first book on using the internet in 1994. And we did our first completely electronic learning resource in 1997. We have done resources on practically every subject and at every grade level and in many different forms.
My staff and I have constantly been learning and have constantly been improving the process and our skill base. We sought out the best freelancers and contract workers (each excellent in their field) and have strove to produce the best products for our clients no matter the timeline. No matter the budget.
However we have reached a point in our journey that we can no longer do what we love to do in the way we have been doing. The industry is changing and so must we.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my staff current, most of whom I have worked with for more than 10 years and several for all 22. I wanted to thank past staff members. I wanted to thank all of the freelancers that have helped us along the way. And most certainly I want to thank all of our clients who had faith in our skills and came back to us time and time again.
Shortly I will be posting a list of staff (with contact info) who will be continuing on as freelancers. In the meantime, please feel free to contact them at their firstfolio.com email address. Our email addresses will stay active for the near future.
I have always tried to be fair in my business dealings. Throughout it all I have tried to keep joy in my heart and a sense of fun and playfulness while doing my very best to make our customers happy and give them a great product at the end. I didn’t always succeed but I always give it my all and I always had fun. Well. I mostly had fun 😉

It has been an absolutely joyous 22 years,
Cheers, to whatever is next.
P.S. No doubt my editors will find many faults with what I have written above. I can’t decide whether I will miss them correcting everything I type or not. I think I shall.
